Learn more at www.thefoodwastedoctor.comAn additional aspect of The Food Waste Doctor is the utilisation of social media for the discussion of food waste, its impacts, and tips for reducing waste in the home. Its aim is to educate consumers on the catastrophic environmental, economic and social impacts of food waste and to start people thinking and talking about the issue in the hopes of making change a little at a time.
Postdoctoral Research Associate - Food Waste & Behavioural Change
I worked with an international team of academics, tech developers and industry members to establish key behavioural barriers to sustainability and food waste reduction in young adults (Generation Z) and to develop technology to target behavioural change to reduce these. My role included developing, managing and implementing research and co-creation with the target audience, developing comms strategies and creating reports on the deliverables of the projects.
Lecturer
Alongside dissertation supervision I teach in several areas including; - Environmental New Product Development - Environmental strategy- Managing Brands- Innovation Management
Founding Director
I founded an NPO which works with local schools to organise workshops with the students about varying disabilities. Currently covering the mobility, visually and hearing impaired Dis-illusion gives children and adolescents a chance to learn about disabilities, ask questions they'd normally not get a chance to and experience day to day activities with that disability. The aim of Dis-illusion is to develop a generation of children who approach disability with understanding and compassion and as they grow up to contribute to the reduction of social exclusion and barriers to work many people with disabilities face. www.dis-illusion.orgMy role was initially the development of relationships with locals schools and disabled volunteers, fundraising through events and grant applications and the marketing of the organisation to help it grow. However, since establishing a team to continue the day to day run of the organisation I am largely only involved in the significant decisions and the monthly meetings.
Research Assistant
I assisted in the designing and running of focus groups to aid in resident engagement with rejuvenating Fareham and Portchester town centres. This included work with demographics and data analysis.
