Decision support, dynamic simulation software for water resources projects.Categories of work: hydrologic simulation, hydraulics, dynamic simulation, probabilistic simulation of water resources systems. Sales and marketing of the software product. Management of staff and development of water resources features being added to the software.

Categories of work: Simulation, Design studies, Project management, and Business Development (sales). Involved personally and as supervisor over junior staff in the following modeling projects: reservoir operations, supply-demand forecasts, water rights allocation, climate change and hydrology, stormwater runoff/routing, steady/non-steady open channel flow modeling, pump station operations, pipe network studies, and dam break analyses. Significant experience using the following software programs: EPANET (and related proprietary software), EPASWMM (and related proprietary software), HECRAS and MIKE11, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Extend6 and VBA in Excel and GoldSim (for custom, dynamic simulation tools). Currently learning and using an OOP computer language called Ruby and Ruby on Rails. Experience investigating simulation tools and selling these both internally and externally. In the last three years at CH2M HILL, I have fulfilled the role of project manager or task manager for over 10 projects. Largest project managed was $200,000 in fees, which also won an ACEC honor award in the Utah Chapter in 2006.

Engineering designs and studies related to land development projects. Work included preparing construction documents for facilities required at new developments, such as water, wastewater, and irrigation distribution systems, grading plans, and stormwater conveyance and detention. Duties also included working closely with cities and other regulatory agencies. Also spear-headed and developed a USBR 2025 grant proposal while at Ensign Engineering for funds to be used by State and local agencies to install and test water meters for secondary water used for residential irrigation.

Experience in the following engineering designs and studies: fish screens, irrigation canal enlargement, canal structures, unsteady channel flow modeling, land surveying, stream flow measurement, pipeline design drawings and specifications. Assistant project manager for canal improvement project for canal lining, enlargement, and control structures for 40-mile canal. Assisted in cost estimates for large pumping and conveyance projects.

Assisted senior engineer with water resources engineering designs and studies, including stream channel restoration, water supply studies, dam break analysis, stormwater runoff analysis. Also prepared Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans for various sites in and around the Redding California area.

Managed a small team to finish construction along I-80 just east of Reno, NV.
