Growing up in the digital age, as a part of Gen Z, is a blessing and a curse. I’m an optimist, so let’s call it a blessing. Hi, I’m Lily Burns. I’m a student in the traditional sense- I attend CUNY Baruch College where I study Marketing Management, focusing in Digital Marketing, and Political Science (my minor). I’m also a student in a nontraditional sense- I’m always learning outside of the classroom. I’m learning from my classmates and coworkers, my family and friends, and even the little kiddos I work with sometimes. I’m learning on Skillshare, from the books I read, from social media (all of the socials). I love being in the digital age. I’ve never felt more connected with people and I continue to learn. That’s why I study digital marketing- digital is everything to the average consumer, just as marketing is to the average business.Right now, I work at Cloe’s Corner. We’re a business incubator, coworking space and event space. We’re a small team and on this small team I take the role of Assistant Manager. I specialize in digital marketing and lead generation for the business. I’m also a photographer. I’m focusing on my own artistic expression through photography, mainly film photography, though I have been doing portrait and event photography for 3 years. I can’t wait to see where my education and my work as a digital marketer and photographer will take me.
