In 2022, I started listening to the podcast, The Happiness Lab with Dr. Laurie Santos. Yale Professor Laurie Santos interviews experts and incorporates cognitive science and positive psychology principles to inform how we can lead a more joyful life. As a teenager witnessing the stress, depression, and anxiety prevalent in my peers after the pandemic, this podcast made an impression on me, I reached out to Dr. Santos to express my appreciation for her podcast and interest in helping make this material accessible for teens. This led to an exciting collaboration, and when the teen Well-being course was introduced at Noble and Greenough School by Jennifer Hamilton, I pitched an idea for a research project to analyze the impact of the course on my peers' well-being. I then implemented this study, collected and analyzed the data, and summarized my findings in an abstract. I presented my work, Implementation and Effects of “The Science of Well-Being for Teens” Course in a High School Setting, at the American College of Lifestyle Medicine meeting in Orlando, FL in October 2024.
