I began my career working as a crew member as McDonalds whilst still in high school. My skills and knowledge of team leadership were noticed by my superiors and so over the next 2 years of my employment, I progressed to the position of Crew Trainer. I decided to defer from my bachelors degree at Australian Catholic University and focused solely on my progression at McDonalds into my restaurant's Product Quality Department Manager. Here I was given the opportunity to hone in on my customer service and leadership skills, whilst also learning how the business runs from a managerial perspective. Whilst with McDonalds I was able to obtain various Management and Hospitality certificates and was lucky enough to attend several McDonalds Australia recognised courses and workshops. After 5 years, I decided to take the skills and knowledge that I had developed from my time at McDonalds, and put them toward a new industry, Automotive Sales. I began working at Volkswagen in 2021 with no knowledge of the automotive industry, but with a keen passion for customer service and learning. I was responsible for selling new passenger and commercial Volkswagen vehicles and here, I developed a great passion for all aspects of sales and the automotive industry. Through Volkswagen I was able to obtain my sales license and also Volkswagen Australia Nationally recognised sales course certificates. I was able to extend my knowledge in skills such as customer service, hitting KPI's and targets, and also learning new skills such as customer retention, strong negotiation skills, sales techniques, building rapport and great time management. These skills continue to assist me as I have moved to the UK on a working holiday visa where I have learned the similarities and differences of the automotive industry outside of Australia. Throughout my time in the UK and working for a couple of different companies, I now have experience selling used vehicles as well as new and as of recently, have also extended my knowledge into automotive rental through Volkswagen Financial Services.
