I am currently the School Social Worker for the Title VI Indian Education program in Omaha Public Schools. In my current role, I work with Native American students and their families district wide to provide resources, culturally appropriate social and emotional learning supports, advocacy, and other programming. I consult with school staff and assist in engaging families using trauma informed strategies, and provide professional development on topics such as historical trauma and and supporting Indigenous children and families. I obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a concentration in Administration and Community Practice and a graduate certificate in Social Work with American Indians from the University of Oklahoma. While at OU, I worked as a graduate research assistant within the OU Center for Tribal Social Work. I have taught the Social Work with American Indians course as an adjunct instructor at UNO and I am currently serving as Member at Large for the School Social Work Association of Nebraska. Skilled in case management, public speaking, cultural competency, macro intervention planning, and direct services in a school setting.
