I am a senior in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville working toward a business degree in Finance with a collateral in Economics. I have always been dedicated to both my academics and outside extracurricular activities is one of my strengths. In my previous position as a retail specialist at Dick’s Sporting Goods, I always met or surpassed expectations. I continue to do this as an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha. Collaborating with my colleagues is another strength of mine. As a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, I work with my colleagues to raise money for philanthropic causes and work together to complete community service.Some of my business interests include understanding global economies and how they work together from a macroeconomic perspective and also how individual economies work from a microeconomic perspective. My experiences with problem-solving have prepared me to pursue a career in economics. For example, while working for Dick’s Sport Goods problems would occur around our inventory. My coworkers and I would have to figure out why our inventory count was either too large or too small compared to what we had on hand. My career goal after college is to work for a large company or corporation as a financial analyst and help them decide decisions for their company based on both the company’s financial statements and the trends happening in the economy.
