The best part was learning about the construction industry (which previously I had not a clue about) and overcoming challenges. Learning the art of dealing with general contractors was fun. I learned how to find, train and motivate trades to work safely. All of this was totally new for me. I gained valuable skills as I had to wear many different hats each day.I also mastered my accounting and budgeting skills and produced reports and financial analyses. This was critically important, as it kept me focused and I learned how to work efficiently with the tight deadlines. I am proud that while directing and administering in this company every trade and every worker was paid on time. Every bill and invoice was paid on time. Projects were hard, contractors demanding..but it was so worth it, because I expanded my managment and planning skills. I was waking up at 5:00 am every morning and going to bed at 1:00 am. From this business I got really strong negotiation, contracting and closing deals skills. Also I have perfected my technical and computer skills, and I am able to create brochures, flyers, posters and any other document from the idea to the actual printed publication: booklets, flyers catalogs and use professional machines and programs like Illustrator, Publisher or In Design.
