I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations, but studying the cultures and governments of the world has been an interest of mine for many more years. Building workplace relationships, either with coworkers or clients, is an area I excel in, as well as creative problem solving and communication. I’m well acquainted with high pressure situations, as my current position at TaxHawk as a Team Lead and an advanced support agent, requires high quality work during the ever stressful tax season. Preparing a tax return can be frustrating and stressful, perhaps even terrifying, for many people; my ability to research and interpret tax instructions, laws, and forms in a way that offers clarity and assurance to our clients has helped me develop invaluable skills of communication, patience, and problem solving. Within the community of Souther Virginia University, I have had the honor to take on several club presidencies, often at the same time. This has helped me build skills in public speaking, in coordinating with other individuals and societies, and in relationship building. I am used to being an advocate and a resource as the president of SVU’s LGBTQ+ Pride Club, and a strategist while serving as the Model United Nations Vice President while it was active at SVU.There are several goals I have for my future. I plan on attending graduate school abroad after having a year of experience in the work force. As my passion lies mainly with culture and people, I hope to steer my career towards UNESCO, or working with the Foreign Service in Public Diplomacy.
