As a kid, I had a habit of creating things from random household objects: I once built a theater for my Polly Pockets with a functioning, retractable curtain using an old chair, a piece of fabric, a ruler, a few paperclips, and some string. As an only-child from a small town whose parents didn’t believe in video games or TV, my childhood was filled with imagination and creating/adjusting/building things with what I had access to – very much shaping my approach to grade school, college, and eventually my career. My analytical tendencies and earnestness for improvement and improvisation have been key in my success as a digital marketer and leader: I love seeing things for what they could be, rather than only seeing them for what they already are. Throughout my career, this mindset has heavily influenced my critical thinking, problem solving, and intuition related to all things brand partnerships and social media strategy. One of my favorite aspects of my work with clients is applying insights of the creator economy across verticals and identifying all the unexpected elements and learnings I can use to put together a strategy truly out-of-the-box and ahead of the curve.
