Working closely with Sheffield University Accommodation & Commercial team. Supporting student engagement and development activities. Actively contribute new ideas to improve student experience. This includes helping Student Engagement & Development team with planning, organising and hosting a leaving party for Allen Court residents. Initiated the idea of bingo and 'picture wall' which received positive feedback from Student Engagement & Development team and residents. Lead event planning, budgeting, organising and event delivery. Since working at Allen Court , I have suggested to increase the student experience budget to the management team which is now under review. I also help with planning and outsourcing external service providers to cater for the busy check in period in September. Act as the main contact for student well-being officer within the office. Solve student conflicts and complaints. Report any concerns for students well-being to higher management team and University student support team. Engage students to events in order to create a positive feeling of belonging and community. Develop new ideas by collecting feedback from residents and relevant organisations. Mainly responsible for the duties of Reception and Reservations as well as daily admin tasks, making sure that the Reception team is efficient and excelling customer expectations. To ensure that guest’s needs are met where possible and to assist with the general running and control of the front of house team.

Sourcing and selling in international electronic components trading department. Responsible for buying and selling electronic components worldwide. Working within the international trading team as well as working independently to expand the European market. Took sole responsibility of marketing strategy implementation, cost control and customer relationship management. Worked effectively within the team and achieved monthly sales target.

Working as part of Mercure’s food and beverage team. Responsible for functioning breakfast, lunch and large scaled event service with a 4 star standard service delivery, including up-selling, problem identification and resolving, room service, buffet preparation, hosting, serving and cash handling. This work experience has enhanced my customer service skills, working effectively as part of a multi-national team from various cultural backgrounds. Furthermore, I was required to attend monthly budgeting meetings and this gave me a greater insight and business awareness of hotel operations.

I was rotated in all of the positions within food and beverage department, including banquet and event, five-star restaurant, spa cafe and lounge cafe. I was part of the restaurant and banquet team and I also had sole responsibility of running two cafes which involved stocktaking, cash handling and daily record and reporting.
