I am a highly analytical, driven and passionate individual with education and training across multiple facets of biodiversity conservation. I am hugely passionate about ocean conservation and hope to contribute to a future where the oceans are bounding with life.My current role at UNEP-WCMC involves application of analytical expertise, contributing to the development of novel analyses and tools to improve the evidence-base behind international policy. Currently I’m working to inform policy related to international wildlife trade and, more recently, ocean governance.I have experience in conservation fundraising for an international NGO, having worked at Fauna & Flora (previously, Fauna & Flora International). This time gave me a great practical understanding of the investments required to access and maintain the funds driving conservation action. Prior to this, I worked in research with the University of Oxford, focusing on the production of a scientific paper detailing a new method for monitoring small-scale fisheries.I have a First class MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management from the University of Oxford, from which I gained a deep understanding of the ‘wicked problems’ surrounding biodiversity conservation. Modules studied included environmental economics, environmental law, and marine ecology and management. I also have a First class BSc in Biological Sciences with a Year in Research from Imperial College London. This included a one-year research placement at the Zoological Society of London.
