Primarily responsible for enrolling persons applying for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Provides follow-up, monitoring and nutrition education to WIC clients. Promotes and supports breastfeeding, refers to appropriate community resources.

Efficiently updates and verifies patient demographics, insurance and contact information, and assist customers in completing necessary forms to meet regulatory and billing needs prior to receiving clinical care. Scans necessary paperwork and educate patients on financial assistance. Promptly schedules appointments realizing provider templates and scheduling guidelines. Proactively request payments from patient on current and past medical services. Receives and processes those payments following appropriate procedures for handling payments. Supports administrative function of the clinic and working reports, addressing patient concerns, and performing paperwork. Willingly coordinate with other team members and other employees to provide a seamless experience for patients.

Unpaid summer internship working with a Registered Dietitian in a clinic setting. Main focus was oncology patient nutrition needs but often floated to other departments to observe. Also spent time creating high protein dairy free smoothie recipes for oncology patients. Completed 120 internship hrs.

Assisted the patient with feeding, drinking, ambulating, grooming, toileting, dressing, socializing and unit specific technical skills. Assisted with indirect patient care activities such as providing a clean, efficient and safe patient care environment, companion care, housekeeping, transporting of patients, and chaperoning the physician during patient examinations and procedures as needed. Performed unit specific duties and additional clerical duties as needed which may include stocking and maintaining clerical and patient supplies. Provided communication to hospital staff, physicians, patients, families, and visitors. Managed admits, discharges, and transfer functions per unit standard. Observed cardiac monitors and notified the nursing and medical staff of abnormal heart rhythm variances which indicate heart ischemia or an acute myocardial infarction.

Assisted in the patient care team in the performance of various tasks and procedures for the critically ill patient or patients requiring special skills or observation. Worked under the direction and supervision of appropriate clinical license professional which was RN or MD. Assisted with emergency resuscitation, set up and assistances with line insertion, and retrieved supplies and equipment. Started IVs, inserted straight catheters, set up for all medical procedures done in an emergency room.
