About Lily Phillips
Hello! My name is Lily, and I'm a senior at Smith College pursuing a major in Physics and a minor in French. At Smith, I’ve accrued a wealth of experience in experimental condensed matter physics as I explore novel behaviors of lower-dimensional electronic and magnetic materials in the quantum limit.Last summer I was appointed a Visiting Student Scholar at Clark University where I worked with the Agosta Group to measure rf penetration depth in a low-dimensional organic superconductor and began work on my senior honors thesis.The year prior, I had taken internship with Northrop Grumman’s Transformational Computing Operating Unit, where I was tasked with characterizing dielectric loss in superconducting qubits. At Northrop Grumman I utilized my unique position as an intern to provide quantitative insight into previously-unexamined sources of decoherence and information leakage in quantum devices.
