I was hired by The Big Know to provide instructional design expertise for a company launching a new learning offering for Spanish-speaking learners. To meet the client's vision for this project, we developed a new process and tools. It involved developing expertise in the subject matter very quickly. An important part of my role as a bilingual instructional designer was to provide recommendations for translation, interact with Spanish-speaking subject matter experts, record voiceover in Spanish and English and to advocate for the cultural needs of the Latin American learner.

I transitioned into this role to manage the customer support process and supervise operations staff from initial consultation, training development, training delivery and logistics support, training evaluation and financial reporting. This opportunity allowed me to audit and streamline operations for the Training Department, identifying opportunities to eliminate redundancy and improve the customer’s experience.

I was hired as Senior Training and Consultation Manager to provide expertise in the design, development and delivery of outcomes-based training for clinicians and other professionals who look to Hazelden for support in the implementation of evidence-based programs.I facilitated a virtual workshop presented by Dr. Stephanie Covington and Dr. Sandra Bloom which served as a pilot for “Moving from Trauma-Informed to Trauma-Responsive” a video-based training program. This workshop combined live video presentations with self-paced online learning activities for a virtual, blended-learning experience.I supported auditing internal processes and helped streamline design, development and delivery of training. We used DACUM (Design a Curriculum) methodology to conduct a program analysis for A New Direction, coauthored with the Minnesota Department of Corrections in order to define new training outcomes.

I was hired as a senior training consultant to support a large enterprise project for a global company that needed to deliver training in multiple locations around the world. The client launched their CRM implementation successfully and I supported their communication plan by developing content for media assets that were used during a pre-launch campaign.I supported a large project by designing instructional content for 15,000 employees on the basics of using CRM to enter customer data.

My role was to lead a team of experienced instructional designers and develop training for our primary client, Medtronic’s Cardiovascular Group. Our team produced several large-scale training projects for Medtronic CVG, especially to onboard their sales force and launch of new products. When I was promoted to Instructional Architect, I developed templates and design standards for our course development process, which reduced production defects by 30%.

My role as an instructional designer was to execute on the design of course content based on industry standards and requirements for Public Safety Leadership, Counseling and Education programs.

I was hired as a Training Specialist, to design and develop training content for the automotive industry. I designed training content using multiple strategies such as Virtual Classroom, online learning, and instructor-led training. I worked as a media producer, directing the photographer, videographer, voiceover talent and audio engineers to produce quality materials to support learning outcomes. As a native Spanish speaker, I was able to supervise voiceover sessions in Spanish at our in-house recording studio, eliminating the need to hire a vendor for this purpose.I supported the translation of multiple courses into Spanish, French, Portuguese and Mandarin. Using Six Sigma tools and processes, I contributed to the reduction of course production time by 48%.
