Lily Lapujade is a Human-Centered Design and Innovation Strategist at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. Embedded within the U.S. Navy's Tactical Advancements for the Next Generation, or TANG, program, she loves to work on user-centered future possibilities in creative ways within the Defense Sector. With a B.S. and M.S. in Human Systems Engineering, as well as a minor in English, Lily has always pioneered a people-first approach. She thrives in engaging with warfighters to understand their problem space, and her eye for detail allows her to truly empathize with their needs. Through applying human systems engineering methodologies and user-centered design principles, she is better able to integrate the user’s perspective into addressing complex Defense challenges. Lily also serves on the TANG Operations Team, bringing an organized approach to materials coordination and management across 15+ TANG projects. Hailing from Arizona, Lily now lives in Bethesda, MD with her partner and cat. Outside of work, you can find Lily reading fantasy novels, listening to Taylor Swift, or weightlifting at the gym.
