I'm a researcher and a writer. I love to dive into a complex topic, swim around in it, synthesize it, and finally organize it so others can skip the slog of the swim if they so choose. My colleagues tell me I'm good at helping them find cohesion and structure when they're mired in details. They seek me out when they need help seeing the forest and the trees at once.My research at Forrester focuses on payments and billing strategies and technologies. I mainly work with large global firms to help them improve payments processing and recurring billing - and learn how each area - together and separately - is evolving to help merchants meet customer needs and expectations. I've been a featured speaker at industry events like eTail, GELF, IRCE, Payment Leaders Summit, and Shoptalk. I've contributed to leading publications and programs including CBS News, CNBC, The Financial Times, Forbes, Internet Retailer, The L.A. Times, APM's Marketplace, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal among others. Before joining Forrester, I worked as an advocate at an antipoverty nonprofit agency, providing case management for clients in areas such as housing, utilities, insurance, immigration, and financial literacy.I hold a B.A. in American Cultural Studies from Bates College (meaning I read and wrote a lot - mainly about power and how it manifests in society). I am fluent-ish in Spanish (grew up in a Spanglish-speaking household) and proficient-ish in Portuguese (lived in Brazil for six months). I love linguistics, wordsmithing, frameworks, and making connections between non-obvious things. In other words, I could play Codenames or NYTimes Connections for hours on end.
