Sworn in as a Student Assistant District Attorney. Tasks included appearing in court, investigating cases, responding to defense motions, engaging in plea negotiations, and preparing state witnesses for trial testimony. Participated in pretrial hearings and bench trials and had the opportunity to second-seat a felony jury trials.

Worked directly under Judge Stroth’s Court Attorney. Assigned a variety of cases to conduct legal research for and to write judicial decisions for based on facial insufficiency motions, motions to suppress evidence, and Brady violations. Had the opportunity to observe trials, jury selections, and summons hearings.

Worked directly under Public Defenders on a variety of juvenile, as well as Drug Court matters. Tasks included meeting with and contacting clients regularly, conducting legal research for writing motions, and brief writing on an array of matters, including but not limited to Drug Court appeals, Miranda violations, and evidence suppressions.

Worked directly under Assistant State Attorneys on a variety of sexual battery cases. Tasks included legal research and investigation, as well as hearing and trial preparation. Assigned a specific special prosecutions case to investigate throughout the summer by reading depositions, examining evidence, and composing a series of notes for the ASAs to use in drafting charges.

Communicated clearly and effectively with clients, vendors, judicial assistants and other legal offices on a daily basis to complete the scheduling of meetings, hearings, and mediations. Efficiently completed numerous administrative tasks, including billing entry, electronic online filing, and putting together pleading indexes. Drafted letters to judicial chambers regarding proposed orders, and correspondence to clients with case updates.

Prepared letters to donors. Kept track of and maintained excel spreadsheet of campaign donations. Assisted in planning fundraising events, including local walks and social affairs. Drafted biweekly newsletter for constituents. Updated social media to reflect calendar of events.
