Chemistry Laboratory 401:(1) Performed laboratory housekeeping activities and periodically cleaned up and kept tidy the laboratory including tables, benches, chemical racks, equipment, apparatus, sinks, floors, rubbishes, ventilation, etc..(2) Managed chemical inventory and laboratory paperwork. Properly classified, arranged, stored and kept track of chemical stocks including procured, gifted, purchased, consumed, transferred and discarded chemicals and provided the latest Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).(3) Managed equipment and instrument inventory. Kept track of the identity, status and condition of laboratory equipment and instrument including newly purchased, existing usable, obsolete and ready to dispose or under maintenance ones.(4) Aided in proper handling, storage and disposal of chemical wastes including hazardous wastes, expired and outdated chemicals. Disposed obsolete equipment/ instrument and called up for basic maintenance due to breakdown of equipment /instrument.(5) Carried out routine equipment troubleshootings, balancings and calibrations including surface tensiometer, pH meters, analytical balances, etc. Coached student trainings in operating instrument and communicated them with analytical concepts.

Assisted supervisor in writing and modifying a research proposal entitles "Formulation design of colloidosomal controlled-release nanoparticulate system containing allelochemicals for use in noxious weed management", compilation of documents, filled in the application form and submitted it online.

Taught undergraduates the theoretical and experimental studies in chemistry laboratories on the courses: Spectroscopy (CHM3402) and Inorganic Chemistry (CHM3303) and evaluated student lab reports.

Assisted a supervisor and two co-supervisors in writing three research proposals in a research program entitles "Allelopathy development of natural products, intervention using advanced formulation technology and scrutiny of biological effectiveness in noxious weed management for sustainable agricultural practices (SAP)". The three proposed project titles are: (1) Investigation of allelopathic weeds, chemical constituents scrutiny and optimization of scale up production of the weed extracts for fundamental knowledge of bioherbicide source; (2) Development of colloidosomal controlled release nanoparticulate system containing allelopathic weed extracts for potential bioherbicide formulation; (3) Biological effectiveness of allelopathic extracts and formulations against noxious weeds of agricultural economics important. Compilation of documents, filled in the application form and submitted it online.

Mentored two undergraduates (Goh Ruo Zhen and Norhazwani binti Mokhtar), designed the projects entitle "Green nanoemulsion formulation for biopesticide azadirachtin in controlling fruitfly (Drosophila melanogaster" and "Isolation and characterization of allelochemicals in Garcinia atroviridis for use as an alternative to fungicides", respectively, and assisted them in conducting experiments.

Assisted in design, compilation, writing and editing of annual magazine for nanodelivery research group, Enzyme and Microbial Technology (EMTECH), UPM.

Involved the research on production of palm-based wax esters and conducted the research nanoformulation for an herbicide active, glyphosate isopropylamine (IPA).

Assisted supervisor in writing a research proposal entitles "Design and optimization of nano-biobased agrochemical formulations", compilation of documents, filled in the application form and submitted it online.

Created workshop brochure, contacted invited speakers, requested volunteers for sponsorship to fund raise the workshop, participated in meeting discussions, set up of workshop facilities, etc. Molecular Dynamics and Quantum Chemistry (MDQC) workshop on 22nd-26th June 2009, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, UPM. Invited speakers: Dr. Gerrit Groenhof, Dr. Nuno Miguel da Silva Micaêlo and Dr. Sharifuddin Bin Md Zain.

Mentored an undergraduate (Sathia Surendar a/l Krishnan), designed the project entitles "development of palm-based coating varnish with nonionic surfactants" and assisted him in conducting experiments.

Taught undergraduates the theoretical and experimental studies in chemistry laboratories on the courses: Physical Chemistry (CHM3101), Organic Chemistry (CHM3204), Inorganic Chemistry (CHM3301) and Polymer Chemistry (CHM3102) and evaluated student lab reports. Teaching requirement under Graduate Research Fellowship (GRF) Scheme.

For the active involvement as Chairperson and Committee Member in the Chemistry Postgraduate’s Seminar, 2007-2009, Chemistry Postgraduate Club (CPC), Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia.
