I have a background in Arts and Education having started as a lecturer before moving on to Arts & Culture Management with the British Council where I was part of an international team linking artistes and cultural institutions in the UK and Malaysia. I then joined Badan Warisan Malaysia, Malaysia's leading conservation NGO where I served for 10 years working on education, projects and centre management and still continue to volunteer with. After years working in the education and cultural sectors, I decided to explore the commercial arena by taking up a position in a media owner company where I broadened my business unit management skills and public private stakeholder engagement in a regional context. I then left to study to become a professional tourist guide when I was invited to interview and take up a position as manager at iM4U, later Volunteer Malaysia - an NPO that funds youth volunteerism. I then worked on youth development and social impact projects with Impact Malaysia - an initiative that envisions a sustainable and measurable social impact ecosystem, driven by youth.From September to June annually, I volunteer to help train and mentor museum docents with the Museum Volunteers Malaysia JMM at Muzium Negara on presentation skills, visitor management, Malaysian history.
