- Prepared chemical standards and operated GC-MS to analyse them so as to collect mass spectroscopy data of more compounds for machine learning.- Developed a machine learning model utilizing an ensemble of supervised techniques such as Random Forest and Neural Network (Tensorflow Keras) to classify unknown drug compounds into their respective classes after evaluating them against traditional paper techniques such as PCA-LDA. This led to better accuracy of at least 85% and faster establishment of new drug structure.- Designed and maintained the code to preprocess the initial raw data and devised a method to perform feature selection on the small and complex multi-class processed dataset with over 400 features, resulting in reduction of 90% man hours during preprocessing and increased model accuracy of at least 5%.- Trained colleagues (chemists) on basic Python coding with notes created from scratch to increase their programming literacy and ensure code sustainability, with positive feedback achieved.
