Secondment to Counter Terrorism Policing. Assisting projects within the Targets of Terrorism Policy & Guidance Team, covering - SASS, Sites of Highest Risk in the Publicly Accessible Location (PALs) strategy.

As a Hostile Mindset Replication Specialist, I implemented the Protect Strand of the Home Office CONTEST Strategy covering evaluation and improvement strategies to strengthen security and the reduction of terrorism for organisations covering security and risk management practices. I assess the risk and operational planning readiness for terrorist and hostile events and enhancing police operations and processes. I operate within the Hostile Mindset Assessment Team (HMAT) covering the planning, coordination and supervision reconnaissance, vulnerability assessments, and security.I utilise penetration Testing to review operational and security aspects, locations, security protocols and tactical responses. I conduct investigations across open-source intelligence and media platforms including directing open-source research for high profile security operations as part of police risk management and counter terrorism activities. I liaise with colleagues across departments to share information, coordinate operations, and work collaboratively. I work with external partners and law enforcement agencies as part of policing response and security protocols. I monitor emerging trends and information covering policing investigations and operations. I have also developed and rolled out training for Police Officers across departments covering situational awareness, threat assessments, and hostile environments.

In this role, I applied Behavioural Detection Training, responsible for applying CPNI’s three protective security strategies covering Deny, Detect, and Deter. I liaised with colleagues to enhance policing covert and counter terrorism operations including developing and delivering training on preventing hostile actions through pro-active policing operations. I supported on deployments for security and threat assessments including improvement discussions with law enforcement agencies across the UK.I developed and implemented best practice processes and procedures and embedding a continuous improvement approach to risk management. I liaised with public organisations, businesses, and the broader MPS organisation to share information and encourage use of best practice security including planning and communications. I coordinated with police, military and government agencies for joint operations including working with private security organisations and aviation security organisations as and when required.

I conducted investigations and working with colleagues across domestic violence cases including preparing case files, compiling evidence, and presenting in court.

I worked across neighbourhood policing and community teams to pro-actively share information, intelligence, and target crime based on risk assessments and information. I handled and presented evidence in court as part of comprehensive cases across different crimes within the community.

I coordinated large complex cases working with Senior Investigating Officers (SIOs) including complying with best practice, policing procedures, and supporting case strategies. I reviewed information and evidence to identify leads, support case development, and compiling evidence according to police procedures. I investigated digital information including open sourced internet based research as well as reviewing emails, text messages, social media traffic, and harvested images for different cases.

I was responsible for community policing, crime scenes, handling evidence, and supporting investigations such as following leads, conducting interviews, and working with colleagues. I was a key part of investigations and also supporting pro-active policing and community engagement as part of building trust across communities to enhance policing operations and outcomes.
