Li-Ming is a strategic people advisor, driving business impact through being a trusted partner to senior leaders in fortune 500 organizations, start-ups and social service organizations. As a Lead People Partner at Google, she and her team develop and drive the people strategies in partnership with business leaders for a large function. The program included rigorous research from Project Oxygen findings and my team implemented the findings into the curriculum, resulting in 40% increases in managers’ confidence in their ability to effectively manage after completing the program. During this time, I was on assignment in Beijing, China for four months as the first People Development person focused on developing managers in the region. I also oversaw the team driving leadership and management efforts for all organizational levels prior to the development of the executive leadership department, and led a top talent program called Basecamp, aimed at developing Human Resources leaders of the future.Additionally, I steered the Career Development programs team, a five-person team, building the baseline content to help Googlers understand how to manage their careers, and supervised the Career Guru program, an internal coaching program allowing “qualified” and “select” senior Googlers to coach other Googlers, of which I became a Career Guru, myself.
