Profile bio

About Jun An Lim

I am a hydrobiologist at PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency, with a vision to help strengthen water security through the development and implementation of advanced analysis methods for biological water quality monitoring. The first step I took working towards my passion in hydrobiology was through an algal bloom research internship with the Tropical Marine Science Institute (TMSI) in 2016. Since then, I've had many opportunities working on various aquatic organisms and cultivating scientific skills and understanding of aquatic environments. I graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Life Sciences (Specialization in Environmental Biology), and a Minor in Aquatic Ecology. I now have 4 years of professional experience in aquatic environmental science and research, and am keen in learning and contributing more to expanding the scientific knowledge critical for environmental management and sustainability. My research interests include marine ecology, seagrasses, marine macroinvertebrates, ecological engineering, coastal protection and blue carbon. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the intertidal shores and reservoirs of Singapore to uncover the spectacular local biodiversity.Feel free to connect, message me or email me at evanlimjunan@gmail.com
