I worked for Americorps and Teacher for America at Oakland High School for two years as a Biology and Physiology science teacher in the Recent Immigrant Support and Engagement (RISE) pathway where I taught Newcomer students science and English. I am committed to and passionate about educational equity and environmental justice in the United States. I received a MS in Education from National University in 2024 and I graduated from Brown University with a B.Sc. in Environmental Science in 2022. While at Brown, I competed as a D1 athlete on the Women's Rowing team. I received the CRCA Student-Athlete Award in 2020, 2021, and 2022. While at Brown, I had the pleasure of conducting ecological research through a multitude of opportunities, which exposed me to a range of ecosystems and also supported me in my position as a science educator.
