Lin Bennett was elected in 2016 to the SC House of Representatives and serves on the SC House Education and Transportation Committee. She is the Chairman of the Motor Vehicle Subcommittee and serves on the House Rules Committee. Rep. Bennett serves o the Charter School Ad Hoc Committee and previously served on the Transportation Ad Hoc Committee relative to Truck Driver and CDL shortages in SC. She has been appointed by Speaker Lucas to serve on the SC House Tax Policy Review Committee to review our tax system and provide recommendations for reform. She also serves on several Charleston County delegation committees to address local flooding, education issues and roads and bridges. Elected last year to serve as secretary of the SC General Assembly Women’s Caucus in the coming legislative session, Rep. Bennett also serves on the Charleston Area Transportation Study (CHATS) Committee. Previously, Rep. Bennett served on the Patriots Point Development Authority, where she also served as Director of Finance on the Board, and the SC Small Business Regulatory Review Committee. Representative Lin Bennett was recognized as a Woman of Excellence by the National Foundation for Legislative Women at their annual conference in Washington DC, November 2018.
