Client: Inova Health System – Inova Translational Medicine Institute: • I managed activities of AWS cloud administration and devops staff, NetApps storage administrators supporting 5+ petabytes of storage, administrators supporting a 32 blade – 1024 core High Performance Compute (HPC) cluster, VMware administrators, staff supporting 9 LAMP stacks of AWS based web based applications, laboratory support staff, 3rd party professional services staff, Hadoop support staff, big data activities of scientists, and data warehouse administrators. I managed enterprise support of data warehouse databases, ETL servers, and network services. Combined these activities implemented, upgraded, and maintained the hybrid datacenter solution I designed. Environment included Hadoop clusters, VMware Windows and Linux servers, AWS Linux and Windows servers, AWS web applications, AWS VPCs, AWS storage, AWS relational databases, AWS Batch processing service, and AWS EC2 Linux servers for genomic compute clusters. I implemented and managed the security protocols for the environment. There were 30+ personnel , 2,500+ Linux and Windows servers, 5+ petabytes of storage, and 25+ petabytes of pipelined data. Automation was provided via Puppet, containerization, and Terraform.• Installed and managed Cloudera Enterprise Hub Hadoop with Kerberos security and data encryption. The IT environment contained 2,000+ servers supporting databases and applications serving up to 15,000 users.• Recruited, managed, and mentored a team providing 24x7 support and administration of 635 databases and middleware servers for 5 hospitals and 70+ facilities.
