This was a newly opened position within the Pharmaceuticals Business Unit towards the end of 2016. The company invited me to take over this role and I accepted it with great enthusiasm.One of the first things I went through in the new role was the business analysis training performed by the Slovenian chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). It was a truly empowering course which showed me the most common mistakes made by companies when making different business decisions. It was a great complement to all the stakeholder involvement trainings I undergone in previous years.This was a great start for two big internal projects I later took over: (1) the introduction of a suitable Business Intelligence tool and (2) the introduction of a new Financial Planning tool. My main responsibility is to coordinate multiple internal stakeholders (i.e. departments), gather information about their needs and make decisions about how to meet these needs within the new tools. A lot of cooperation across departments such as finance, supply chain, marketing, sales, IT, quality, HR and others is required to perform the job. The role also requires strong attention to detail since usually the clash between departments happens in details.

Medis is a pharmaceutical marketing company with a small R&D department where new drug development projects are being implemented. Within this department I acted as support to research project managers in the field of project management and EU funds.In the role of a project manager I planned several domestic and international projects with budgets of up to 10 million EUR. My work included project planning, budget planning, monitoring, writing of sales texts, marketing and communication plans, event organisation and moderation, etc.The main goal was to transform scientific content into business opportunities to gain attention of EU funding bodies. This involved writing of texts which presented the scientific excellence of projects but also clearly reflected their value proposition as well as the impact on customers, the company and the society.I coordinated domestic and international project teams of 10-20 members and internal teams of up to 5 people.

Slovenia

Locus is a spatial planning consultancy which at the time decided to expand its consulting services to help clients prepare their spatial planning projects to obtain EU funds. They invited me to lead the strategy development for this new area of services. I was offered a chance to work with people extraordinarily devoted to spatial planning and real experts in the field. We set-up the strategy, started with its implementation which included a lot of business development and marketing for the new service. We managed to firstly approach the most loyal clients and to explain them how to find new ways to raise funds for their spatial planning projects because national budget for these purposes was shrinking. In the following months we upgraded this philosophy also for other clients.We managed to find several ambitious project ideas and started with their development and planning.

Alianta was among top 3 consultancies for EU funding in Slovenia at the time. Being a small consultancy it offered very diverse tasks and major responsibilities to its staff which enabled me to progress fast. Great coaches during this period are the main reason I developed the way of work and the attitude I have today. PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS PLANNINGI planned and/or managed 20+ international and national EU funded projects with budgets of 1-7 million EUR and duration of 2-3 years (project development, budget planning, monitoring, communication, stakeholder involvement, event organisation and moderation, etc.).I prepared around 15 business plans for new product/service development for renowned Slovenian companies.TEAM LEADI coordinated international project teams of 10-40 members and internal teams of up to 5 people ACCOUNT MANAGEMENTI was responsible for 7 key accounts (main contact person, business processes, events, bids, contracting, implementation, etc.).BUSINESS PROCESSES: I supported all business processes in the company (public tenders, cost objects, records of work and contracts, HRM, IT, marketing, CRM, accounting, internal knowledge transfer, planning of work and resources).I have been told that I am very productive and uncomplicated and my projects were always completed on time and within budget. Team members appreciated my interest for feedback on my own performance and the changes made upon it.
