I'm a Staff Mechanical Engineer with Manufacturing Resources International. MRI is a producer of Indoor and Outdoor Digital Displays with screens up to 98". All of MRI's design and manufacturing capabilities are in-house, providing hands-on experience with our products through the full product lifecyle, from initial design through production stage to field deployment.Specifically, I am a mechanical design engineer who packages the electronics of the display in a way that balances heat transfer requirements, size requirements, structural requirements, and any additional customer requirements. In addition to these design responsibilities, I train production staff to assemble new designs, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and collaborate with our metal shop, production, and customer service departments to improve existing and future designs. Additionally, I am also the point person for training other employees on how to use PTC Windchill PLM for configuration management, and I mentor and train junior engineers.Much of my design work is done in PTC Creo (Pro/E), specifically in the sheet metal design module. Structural analysis is completed using Creo Simulate, and thermal analysis is performed with the Mentor Graphics FloEFD module inside Creo Parametric. Configuration management and engineering change notices are managed through PTC Windchill PLM.Recently, I coordinated employee training and managed process development for my company's transition of our configuration management software from Agile PLM to PTC Windchill PLM. This included collecting feedback from various departments, developing employee training manuals, developing engineering change management processes, and integrating legacy data into the new configuration management software.
