Currently at home with two children under the age of 5, and managing our household, so I am organized and quite good at multi-tasking and focusing on the micro and macro level.I do also have 20 years of professional experience, and am quite versatile. I served in the Air Force for six years as a weather forecaster, so I took an operational mindset as well as a disciplined work ethic from my time in that position, and of course, a sense of humor.Following my military service, I served as an Executive assistant to the Director of Office of Operations in DHS. I coordinated travel and handled all calendar management and administrative tasks as needed. When my contract with the Director ended, I spent a few years working as an analyst for my contractor and took lots of data, and turned it into information and presentations for our clients. Again, my contract ended, and my employer moved me to the corporate office to support our CEO. I supported her and her subsidiary company presidents, caring for their expense reconciliations, travel when necessary, and reimbursement claims, as well as following up on action items and tracking progress and completion. I also assisted in checking time sheets for their staff and handled any tasks which needed to be completed.From my time with UIC, I transitioned into restaurant service: serving, bartending, and managing. My last employed position was in Charlottesville, Virginia. I assisted in the opening of an establishment that offered many different levels of service, and I helped to organize the operational library of documents needed to manage, hire, and train a new staff, and then adjusted those as our needs evolved. I saw to shift operations and employee training, and very importantly, to guest satisfaction and maintaining a calm air and rhythm amidst the fast pace of service.I left my last position to care for my daughters, and my terminally ill mother in my hometown, however, I am very excited to begin my next long-term career. I enjoy working with a good team, and very much want to find a position that allows me to learn and grow, and stay.
