Store SupervisorThe Officers Club Sep 2007 - Mar 2008Male clothing outlet in the UK. Store supervisor meant I was in charge of the store floor, while the manager and assistant dealt with the daily running of the store, it was my position to ensure staff morale was kept up, stocks were displayed correctly, windows dressed according to current promotions that were going on. On occasion i was required to open and close the store, also ensuring that all monies were correct 3 times a day (including at close of store)Leaving Quiz Clothing to take up this appointment allowed me to see another side of store retail within Scotland, The Officers Club staff at the store which i was employed, kept a close relationship with each other, it was managed more like a family business environment, instead of the chain store it is. I enjoyed my time here and would still see myself with the company, had i not decided to relocate back to the US.

Assistant ManagerQuiz Clothing Jul 2006 - Sep 2007This was my first position after i relocated to Scotland I assisted the store manager in the running of the store. When she was off I would ensure the store ran smoothly to company standards and all policies were followed. For 3 months the store manager had to take a leave of absence, which left me in charge of the day to day running of the store with the supervisor. I made sure all stock that was received into our store was sensored and placed on the sales floor within the hour of receiving it. I was also in charge of all receiving and shipping of all stock. I made sure and new reductions were done within the hour of receiving them. I trained all new and old employees on company standards and also on new ideas to help bring in new customers and raise sales. I helped with inventory and loss pervention issues in the store. I also helped bring down the loss of merchandise within the store. I also did majority of the operation side of the store, ensuring all deposits were correctly done as well as all total sales numbers were correct so we were on track with our sales goal. I also kept the store clean, tidy and organized so that way the customers came into a clean environment. Always had to make sure the customers felt at home and were greeted with a friendly smile.

Assistant ManagerDemo (Pacific Sun Wear) Mar 2004 - Mar 2005- specializes in clothing for The hip -hop industry-such as Baby Phat - Phat Farm, Encye - Lady Encye Ecko - Ecko Red, Rocawear, Apple Bottoms, G-unit, Akademics As was one of the top sellers out of 13 staff members my average sales per day was in excess of $1000, this however doubled at the weekend. Ensuring targets were accomplished then surpassed was one of the most important aspects of my position as assistant manager. The store always ended up in the top 3 stores beating the store target goal.Hiring and training short term staff to cover the holiday period was also my responsibility, as well as coaching those already with the company, wanting to progress up the chain of command. During my time at demo 2 were promoted to management. 2 more were promoted after I left when they turned 18. I was in charge of all visuals, also training others on this, to ensure that current promotions were stocked and displayed properly. The inventory shrink was 5% during the year I was with the company it was brought down to 1.7%. to the company standard. I took the initiative to start a customer notebook and kept all their personal info so that I can call them to inform them of new promotions or merchandise they were waiting on. I also took initiative pull and show merchandise to customers and to add on while they were in the fitting room. During Secret shop visits, our store maintained a very high standard, a lot of credit was given to me for my ideas on the customer contact book, and add on purchases. Thanks to my help on the shirk loss problem, i was transferred to another store that had a very high inventory shrink loss to help bring it down and help the loss prevention director with the issues within the store. Role playing was a daily project when it was slow. I also trained staff on how to process shipment and get it out on the floor. 4 boxes in 20 minutes was the goal.

Assistant ManagerBakers Footwear Group Dec 2002 - Apr 2004similar to Clarks Fashionable and most have higher heels. Sold brands such as Steve Madden, Melissa, Candies, Baby Phat, Sketchers, Diesel, Dollhouse, Bebe, Adidas, Carlos SantanaAs with most store positions, this was a target based environment, the weekly sales target was $2500 a week. I found myself able to achieve this without much difficulty, achieving almost double the target often. Which helped overturn sales to 6% above the store target for each month. Discount cards were always to be pushed at the sales point, again i found i had little problems selling these. I took the initiative to clean up the stock room so that they shoes went where they were supposed to and assigned each section to a staff member and trained them how to keep it up. We held contests within the store to keep the girls energetic and to bring their sales up. I was also in charge of the Visuals in this store and was asked to train staff how tokeep up displays and to do floor sets. The inventory loss was also very high to internal theft and was brought down from 12% to a 2.3% before I left. I assigned projects to staff so I could see what their strong and weak points were so we could work on their week points. I helped coached and trained staff on how to keep up the store and how to customer service. I always role played with them. I had them start bring out the hot new shoe and one similar to the one they asked for and tell the customer why they brought out these shoes for them to try on. I also had them add on while customer was trying on the shoes with a hand bag or any accessories that went with the shoes. I left this company for better job opportunities at Demo. www.bakersshoes.com
