Lead a team of 7 to work with local, state and national partners to assure that actions taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (mitigation) and actions taken to prepare for the challenges brought by climatic changes (adaptation) have beneficial effects on health while not exacerbating already existing preventable and unfair differences in status of some groups (health inequities). Bring consideration of health and equity to climate change planning, and bring consideration of climate change and equity to public health planning.

Initiated, planned, and managed 16+ prevention and public health promotion programs and administered a budget in excess of $1.2 million/year. Led a team of 14 in execution of policy and environmental changes to prevent chronic illnesses and disparities before they start. Wrote and secured public health grants.ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT:• Developed and coordinated diverse community coalitions including the Action Communities for Health, Innovation & Environmental Change (ACHIEVE)/Community Transformation Grant coalition.• Enacted policies to increase physical activity and nutrition and promote local healthy food systems.• Led a publicity campaign regarding the health effects of drought and climate change.• Monitored programs, oversaw program reporting, and administered budgets.• Created position descriptions, designated program assignments, hired, trained, and evaluated staff.• Developed and delivered dynamic presentations for decision makers and community partners. • Secured grants totaling $3.5 million in tenure with Public Health. • Employed data-driven decision making by leading research, data collection, analysis, and publication of population-level indicators that identified health inequities between groups. • Defined unit mission and vision to prioritize “healthy people & places; equity & opportunity for all”.• Served as the face of the unit and department to the public; provided technical assistance to community partners.
