Dr. Linda M. Williams is co-founder of The Williams Institute for Ethics and Management, a nonprofit corporation established in 1993 to take ethics to a new level. She served as President/CEO until May 2007 when she turned a successful nonprofit over to the Board to hire a new leader. Since that time Dr. Williams has served as a consultant in ethics, community assessment and management through her private firm, Inspiring Mission Integrity. Most recently she has co-directed 5 social services needs assessments for major Arizona cities. Promoting herself to "doing nothing but the fun stuff," she provides a unique combination of management and people skills reflecting her education, professional experience and commitment to building organizational cultures of trust. The education part of this equation includes undergraduate and graduate degrees in business coupled with a Ph.D. from Arizona State University focused on social justice, ethics, and policy.In 2015, Dr. Williams completed a two-year program to become a Certified Spiritual Director. Adding a new dimension for individuals to be present through deep listening and personal support, she creates environments to grow through conversation, listening and contemplation.Her academic training is enhanced by her experience in nonprofit administration, research-based project management and 15 years in federal government policy, including 5 years at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC, addressing questions of ethics surrounding the Challenger incident. She spent 6 years as a senior research associate at ASU, including 4 ½ years conducting research inside Arizona’s juvenile prisons, co-authoring a book about the experiences of incarcerated youth, Youth in Prison: We The People of Unit Four.Dr. Williams believes that her lifetime experiences have had a significant impact on her views on ethics and social justice. However, it is her passion for inspiring personal integrity and building community that define her identity.
