Responsible for the startup and development of the Finance department for the Texas office while ensuring that OI is legally compliant in relation to tax and accounts issues. Key responsibilities included building and managing a strong and transparent relationship with Group Auditors, filing of annual governmental returns including 1120, 1099, 1042, franchise and property renditions, operating and developing SAP, managing banking relations, payroll approval and interface, internal reporting, budgeting and forecasting of projects and cost centers, and ensuring integrity of OI Texas Inc. financial statements both internally and externally.Cost controller/ project accountant for all projects running through Gulf of Mexico region.

Responsible for managing projects and cost centers for the Gulf of Mexico territories including U.S., Mexico, Venezuela, and Africa and all transactions and taxes are reported with statutory and local legal requirements. Ensure continuous compliance with all Finance policies, process, and procedures and promote best practice. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and variance analyses. Maintain project budget/ forecasts, unbilled and deferred revenue amortization schedules, project structure set ups within SAP, and assets under construction (AUC) accounts and Capex Accounts. Ensure timely client and intercompany invoicing, organize and monitor month end close processes, and ad hoc reporting. Highly involve with annual and 5 year budgeting processes. Maintain direct liaison with managing director, financial group controller, general manager, and various regional accountants.

Work closely with department managers to maintain cost center budget/ forecasts and maintain liaison with project accountants to compile regional long term cash flows. Prepare quarterly analytical reviews, department spend, variances, and accounts receivable analyses. Responsible for month end close, monthly allocations, reconciliations of balance sheets, bank accounts, and intercompany transactions including intercompany rebilling, treasury, capex management, and ad hoc reporting.

Maintained project budget/ forecasts based on As-Bid handover, provided accurate project variance analyses and explanations for project revenue, cost and JLI, prepared weekly and monthly project cash flows, client invoicing, and month end close.

Along with Associate Accountant duties, additional responsibilities included SAP Smart User, property insurance variations, general taxes including property tax (TX & AL) renditions, Texas Franchise Taxes, and assisting in IRS tax filing of 1120-F.

Responsible for managing Accounts Receivable, Capex reporting, intercompany billings, cost center & budget forecasts, month-end close, analysis of variances, monthly allocations, journal entries, and balance sheet & bank reconciliations.

Administered purchase orders, invoices, contracts, requisitions, and deposits in Excel and QuickBooks. Assisted the Financial Coordinator with reallocations and reconciliations.
