Sailed 20,000 miles and visited over 20 countries on Wild Goose sailboat. Visit the blog! In a nutshell, we lived on our sailboat, sailed across the Atlantic Ocean, sailed and lived in Mediterranean countries, sailed back to the Caribbean, explored the islands, and returned to North Carolina.Independent exploration of Mediterranean and Caribbean cultures focused on fostering intercultural and cross-cultural understanding. Efforts included self-sufficient, small-space living while immersing in local communities and cultivating worldwide relationships. Experienced different cultures, navigated new languages and explored historical implications, all while developing the global perspective needed for success in today’s interconnected world.

Co-founded and managed an independent record company, OMS Records, and a publishing company. Acquired knowledge necessary for business creation and expansion including industry, legal, and financial. Developed and executed all business components including production, finance, and marketing. Created all processes and technology solutions to support a rapidly growing business.

Provided independent consulting services focused on business processes, technology, and training. Partnered with a health care records company to develop a comprehensive product training program. Required learning health care systems, and clinical terminology and processes, in order to successfully develop curriculum and deliver technology-based training to health care providers. Developed course materials, conducted quality assurance testing, and insured completion of the instructor/product support training program and the sales training program.

Responsible for sales of training services and products, and management of a team that developed and delivered training programs. Worked with sales account executives, client account managers, and clients to effectively promote training for clients’ information technology department. Integral member of management team responsible for 80 customers located in 28 countries.

Provided technology solutions for the mortgage insurance business, including analysis, programming, and training. Responsibilities included system analysis and programming, business analysis, and team management.

Provided support for time deposit systems, including business and user coordination and technical implementation. Systems included an in-house written system and a purchased financial software package (Hogan Systems).
