Hello! My 30+ years have given me quite a variety of experiences in K-12 education and community college. These experiences have revolved around my music education bachelor degree and my master of music. But my education didn’t stop there as I earned an ethnomusicology certificate which has increased my offerings to have included cultural anthropology. And my passion for my community and my students has had me involved in non-course online engagement, first year experience courses, and a great deal of work in scheduling. Over a decade of being a division chair has put me in a position to not only schedule courses for better accessibility for students, but also create new schedule time frames like offering liberal arts courses in only 4 days a week allowing more time for students to work in their communities. I believe there is more for me to learn and have been accepted for the Luoma Leadership Academy and I’m looking forward to learning more there as well as adding a QM endorsement to my credentials in the coming year. As an educator I never want to stop learning. I want to be an example to my students that education isn’t just a means to am end, life long journey.
