About Linda Ung

My name is Linda Ung and I am currently a Chemistry PhD candidate in the Shaw group at the University of California, Davis. I received a B.S. in Chemistry, along with a Business Administration minor, from NC State University. I was a part of Merck’s Future Talent Program the summer of 2022, where I was a Process Chemistry intern at the Rahway, NJ site.My main research interests lie in organic synthesis, specifically natural product total synthesis.Aside from my love for organic synthesis, I am also passionate about my Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) work. During my undergraduate career, I was a part of the Department of Chemistry’s DEI committee that was established in 2020. As a first-generation student with a low-income background, I take pride in creating environments where other underrepresented students feel more welcomed and invited.
