Organization Consultant
Washington, D.C., Us
I have extensive experience with the National Park system having retired with over 35 years of service in 2011. For the last fifteen years of my NPS career I contributed as an internal organization development consultant with an intense focus on key decision and leadership groups, including nearly a decade assisting/facilitating the National Leadership Council (the NPS Director, Associate Directors, Regional Directors) and the Development Advisory Board (internal and external advisors to the Director focused on capital expenditures across the Service). I consulted with all of the directorates (e.g. information management, facilities, cultural and natural resources, communication, workforce management, protection/visitor services, US Park Police), at the Departmental level, and in all of the regions. My systems consultation work was enhanced by 20 years of NPS field experience in landscape architecture, planning, design, and graphics while living/working in Yosemite, Olympic and Rocky Mountain National Parks. I enjoyed two tours with the Denver Service Center (DSC), and a brief stint at the former Pacific Northwest Regional Office. I concluded the last decade of my career with the Washington Office (headquarters for the NPS).Focus Areas:• Organization around task identification, clarity and completion• Development of purpose and outcomes for calls, meetings, long-term efforts • Coaching leadership skills and behaviors• Strategic Planning
