Linda has extensive networks across the global hydrogen value chain and is currently progressing blilaterial agreements to deliver hydrogen capability in New Zealand to achieve climate change objectives.From 2016 to 2018 Linda founded the New Zealand Hydrogen Energy Consortium Inc. The Consortium comprises some of New Zealand’s largest and most progressive organisations and is focused on the generation and use of renewable hydrogen as a zero-emission fuel for heavy vehicle transport and industrial process heat applications. In 2017 Linda was engaged by a private sector entity to work with Callaghan Innovation to advance the commercialisation of the HyLink, an electrolyser producing hydrogen from water for small-scale off-grid applications.Linda is on the international Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Working Group of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI), representing the global aluminium value chain committed to improving sustainability performance across the aluminium industry.In 2016 Linda authored a widely published think-piece about the potential impact a newly developed New Zealand heat exchanger technology for aluminum smelters could have on renewable energy grids globally. The EnPot technology, which has been developed by the Light Metals Research Centre of the University of Auckland, and is being commercialised by a New Zealand J.V., could play a significant role in alleviating the problems of intermittency in heavy renewable national grids.She has directed cross-functional groups and multi-disciplinary teams in feasibility studies, commercialisation processes and contract procurement. This includes the preparation, negotiations and delivery of a single contract valued at $46 million with an annual operating expenditure in excess of $15 million. Linda has led a range of legal teams to deliver policy objectives for various Council’s and clients, as well as providing expert witness in numerous environmental legal proceedings.

During that time, she advised the Ministry for the Environment on the development of a waste recovery processing sector for tyres, plastics and glass in New Zealand.

Her achievements included advising and implementing ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and a hands-on Manufacturing Mass Balance Calculation at the Sony UK Technology Centre in Pencoed, Bridgend, which is the manufacturing and customer service centre for Sony in the UK. The centre’s focus on sustainability has been recognised through the receipt of the Queen’s Award for the Environment, and a Highly Commended in the Energy and Environment Award.Linda also worked with a wide range of small and medium-sized businesses to successfully implement sustainability programmes. This included advising British Airways on process and energy efficiencies and implementing sustainability objectives, targets and deliverables which achieved significant cost savings and process improvements at its South Wales manufacturing facility.
