Science Teacher
Current• Full time teacher of chemistry, biology, forensic science, earth science, and physical science. Successfully developed lesson plans for classes and individuals. • Started forensic science program in my school, developed its curriculum, and trained teachers. • Homebound services: tutored homebound students (prepandemic) after school in every subject. Served as liason between the students' families, teachers, counselors, and administrators to set realistic expectations. • Maintained positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community. • Mentor for student teachers, students, and community service volunteers. • Proficient with Learning Managment Systems and online teaching platforms. • Taught lab skills including proper handling techniques, safety, avoidance of contamination, and analysis. • Virtual Academy: when schools reopened after the Pandemic shutdown, I volunteered (applied, was accepted) as a full-time online instructor. Worked two full school years in remote setting, which had its own challenges and rewards. Students were required to attend live classes and participate virtually. I interacted daily with my classes through live Teams meetings. Assignments and lessons were updated to include multimedia, student presentations, lab simulations, and data analysis. • Key Club Advisor: led community service group for 25 years. Experienced faculty advisor and community liason. Set up volunteer and service leadership experiences for youth.
