I have worked on a wide variety of projects for different clients, often as a technical team lead. Highlights include:- Led a combined team of software and quality engineers implementing features for a large application with highly complex business requirements. Architecture included two Typescript/React frontend applications and hundreds of AWS microservices, with extensive test automation leveraging Jest and Cypress.- Developed an event-driven architecture for processing transactions, with AWS Lambdas written in Kotlin and leveraging other AWS services including Kinesis, DynamoDB and EventBridge. - Designed and developed a dashboard application for showing the current state of the client's cloud environment, using VueJS for the frontend and AWS serverless technologies for the backend.- Engineered and enhanced an AWS-hosted Infrastructure as Code (IaC) environment, including development of custom Terraform modules and Python scripts. Provided training and support to engineers from other teams as they became familiar with how to use the environment.- Implemented a cross-platform mobile experience across web, iOS and Android by leveraging React and React Native in a custom shared code environment.

- Developed a responsive test score delivery application using React and Ruby on Rails- Configured automated deployments of development and production servers with Ansible- Maintained and enhanced multiple academic applications developed in Ruby on Rails

- Leader of IT for a small academic unit with limited personnel- Fully hands-on in many areas of technical responsibility including web development (vanilla HTML, Drupal, WCAG 2.0 accessibility compliance), open source software customization, and Linux server administration- Administered the IT budget; supervised one full-time developer and two student employees

- Interim IT leader and system-wide IT representative for the Rochester campus- Led redesign and migration of the campus website from Oracle UCM to Drupal 7- Collaborated with system-wide University of Minnesota colleagues- Supervised 7 full-time staff and managed the IT budget

- Led development of a curriculum management system (iSEAL) using J2EE, Spring and Hibernate- Implemented an Agile Project Management approach which improved work quality, aided in deadline management and fostered stronger team relationships- Hired, supervised, and managed a team of 3 software developers and 1 business analyst

- Established web development services for the new Rochester campus IT unit- Redesigned and migrated the campus website from static pages into Oracle UCM- Configured and administered Linux servers, implemented web-based tools in PHP and MySQL

- Designed and developed a custom content management system with scripted deployments- Collaborated with clients to develop new applications and websites and redesign existing sites using Javascript, HTML, CSS, PHP, Perl, Drupal, Flash/ActionScript and RSS- Administered the company’s Linux-based web hosting services including Apache HTTP Server, MySQL, PHP, Postfix, Nagios, SpamAssassin, and ClamAV

- Developed classes for the Java implementation of the CORBA Specification which shipped with the IBM Java Development Kit- Resolved customer issues and educated customers on how to diagnose CORBA exceptions
