Founder & Senior ConsultantAction Dialogue Group Apr 2016 - PresentDana Point, California, United StatesThe Action Dialogue Group was formed in 2016 to join my background in organization development work, my specialty in Bohm-inspired Dialogue, and my commitment and prior volunteer work in fighting/addressing climate change. While Dialogue itself helps to build shared meaning that leads to coherent and aligned action, often people see it as a passive endeavor. The word ‘action’ is to convey that Dialogue is the first step in taking effective action in our world today. Since all of the systemic problems we are facing today such as climate change, the pandemic, the arms race, etc. tend to be about how we humans conceptualize our world together, our ability to share meanings deeply before jumping into action is becoming more and more essential. Learning how to ‘think together’ and to build the collective meaning leading to a future world we all want to live in is the thrust of the Action Dialogue Group.

Co-Owner/FounderThe Dialogue Group 1991 - PresentTucson, AzThe Dialogue Group was formed in 1991 by me and Glenna Gerard as a training and consulting organization around the work of David Bohm. Now known as "Bohm or Bohm-inspired Dialogue”, this is an in-depth communication process that allows participants to explore complex issues leading to more coherent and informed decisions. It also builds what Bohm called ‘impersonal fellowship’ or community. As participants practice the skills involved with Dialogue, they also integrate effective/impactful communication skills that can be used in everyday life with others. Glenna and I also co-authored "Dialogue: Rediscover the Transforming Power of Conversation" (1998, John Wiley & Sons) which has been translated into 4 languages. You can download the eBook at www.http://thedialoguegroup.net.We are currently offering a new online program called “The Foundational History and Skills of Dialogue” which will run from October 29th through December 10th, 2021. Contact me if you are interested in workshops on Bohm-inspired Dialogue or are looking to have an experienced facilitator help your organization with strategic planning and implementation initiatives. Dialogue leads to collaborative cultures when used over time. -
