I am a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) working in acute care and currently studying to complete my Masters of Occupational Therapy to further my career as an Occupational Therapist. As someone who has navigated a non-traditional path in pursuit of my education and career, I have been blessed by countless opportunities that have shaped me into the person I am today. I stumbled upon Occupational Therapy following over a decade of performance and teaching within the Marching Arts and Dance communities. My career in these two fields has provided me the opportunity to travel the United States and work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, cementing my commitment to person-centered care and education. As an educator I work to recognize my student's individual learning needs to support their best possible success. As an acute care COTA/L, I am focused on providing care that allows my clients to experience success and meaning among their most difficult moments. I believe strongly in collaboration, and am always eager for growth and learning opportunities. When not at work, I can be found in my garden or generally anywhere outdoors! I also enjoy strength training, DIY projects, cooking, and fantasy novels. I seek to find humor and opportunity for joy in even the most mundane moments. Spending quality time laughing with those I love is among my favorite past times.
