My name is Linda Beck. I have decades of experience and offer an idiosyncratic and unrepeatable variety of professional skills.I'm a development executive, art director, artist, designer, recruiting specialist, voiceover actress, and writer and on top of those, I believe deeply in the importance of civic engagement and I volunteer regularly in my community. As a Visual Development Producer I work closely with my development teammates and studios to land the perfect looks for new animated properties and rebrands. For my clients, I review new IPs and refresh concepts for animated properties, recommend a pool of very specifically chosen character and background designers, and then direct them from the beginning to the end of the Visual Development process. I serve as a Casting Director, but for Visual Development Artists. Because of my years of production management experience, I am uniquely equipped and trusted to handle confidential materials like NDAs, briefs, and contracts, and to keep an eye on budget lines and spending.Beyond artists, occasionally, I also help fill management roles as well like Executive Producers or Social Media Content Managers.I've produced content (both creatively and as Line Producer) for children (Nickelodeon, Disney) and for adults (History Channel, A&E, PBS) and I was the Executive Program Director for the SOMA Film Festival from 2016-2022 (it was dissolved in 2022). I sit as an Advisory Board Member for the RiverRun International Film Festival.I frequently design print and digital media, incorporating dynamic illustration and layout to clearly communicate messaging and I am a contributing writer to several publications, writing on a variety of subjects. From fall of 2020 until summer of 2023, I taught both Professional Studio and Animation History for Animation and Gaming, remotely, at Maine College of Art & Design offering me a glimpse of what the new generation of artists has to offer.I’m a SAG-AFTRA voiceover artist voicing everything from animated cows to educational videos, to viral pop culture ranking videos.A lover of biology and the sprout of a lineage of famous botanists, I serve as Vice-Chair of the South Orange Environmental Commission (after a year as Chair, I stepped down to make a little room in my schedule) and I'm Co-founder and Trustee of Meadowland Park Conservancy, South Orange, New Jersey’s 45-acre park.Contact me at lindabeckdevelopment (at) gmail (dot) com.
