  I never would have believed it: I work with governing boards, their CEOs and policies. WHAAAAT?After a career in working for, serving on and consulting with boards, in the U.S. and internationally, I am committed to increasing the effective governance leadership of organizations. Why? People who serve on boards should have the skills and satisfying opportunity to improve the organizations they govern. Lay people need the job clarity and skills to do the job.People who work for them should be not only be allowed to - but have the freedom to - do their jobs. Without intrusion - but with great accountability. The organization/district itself should be able to achieve outstanding outcomes for those it serves - the clients/students.We have worked with hundreds of corporate, non-profit and school boards. We enjoy the diversity. That being said, we are known for our work with non-profits and school boards - WHY? Because of our education and training, but also because we know and understand the political nature. AND - we care. There must be integrity, fidelity and mission focus, with accountability, to the people who "own" the organization and to the clients who, by default, trust the board and staff to deliver.
