Perseverance, problem-solving, and curiosity – that’s what I bring to my work in communications and community building. When I was a health volunteer with Peace Corps Togo, I trained for and finished my second and final marathon in Ghana. I trained on the Togolese national highway; to hydrate, I carried a disposable water bottle I kept from a flight. Whether it’s teaching myself audio editing to produce a podcast, learning video to complete a documentary on a nationally-ranked oyster shucker, mastering new software, or shifting an office's marketing and communications entirely online in a pandemic, I figure out how to do something and get it done.Writing, social media, project management, editing (words, graphics, video), diplomacy, relationship building, management – these are the skills I’ve honed freelancing, managing marketing and social media for a university career center, training customer service agents at Airbnb, organizing a union, and helping people access reproductive healthcare. I value service, learning, and teaching others what I’ve learned from my research and experiences. Whatever I’m working on, I’m going to try to make it fun.What are you hoping to learn next?
