Annual project and operational budget c. € 1.7 million.- Commissioning (international) designers (2D and 3D), contractors, museum consultants, educators, and creatives and specialists from universities, arts, theatre, film, etc. Including European tendering.- Contributing actively and successfully to fundraising.- Managing the Marketing & Communications Department Ad Interim (2005-2008).- Giving advice to museums in The Netherlands and abroad on museum redevelopment and refurbishment (2010-2017).Significant projects: - Refurbishment of the complete museum (2003-2011): Leading and overseeing concept development, project planning and management, completion (on time and within budget) and evaluation of 13 new exhibitions (c. 3,000 m2), a virtual museum, school programmes and public events. Project budget: € 11 million.Increase of visitor numbers (mainly families and schools) from 180,0000 to 320,000 per annum.This project won several (inter)national awards and nominations.- Exhibitions: ‘The Dark Chapter’ (on slave trade; 2013), ‘The Royal Barge’ (including an elegant boathouse designed by architect Liesbeth van der Pol. Total budget € 1 million; 2015), and ‘Dare to Discover’ (VR-experience on board of replica ship Amsterdam. Total buget € 800,000; 2017).- Education and public events: 'Whale Weeks' (2014-2017; in cooperation with the World Life Fund) and learning programme 'Boatcamp' (2016; CECA Best Practice Awards 2017).
