· Provide supervision and leadership for the branch’s six, part-time shelvers and pages.· Assist in managing professional and support staff by scheduling, assigning and directing workflow. · Make recommendations for evaluating and handling individual issues and concerns regarding performance of both the professional and support staff.· Network and collaborate with community agencies to plan, promote and provide programs that highlight library materials and/or services.· Work effectively with colleagues and staff towards the goal of providing exemplary customer service.· Work tirelessly to maintain a positive, professional atmosphere and to motivate both the professional and support staff to sustain positive attitudes.· Plan, promote, and provide adult programming options that support library collection and services.· Organize and direct branch level Friends of the Library activities. · Develop, write and distribute branch bi-monthly Friends of the Library newsletter.· Develop and teach computer classes for adult library patrons. · Maintain ongoing knowledge of library resources in print, hardware and software formats.· Work cooperatively with fellow staff members to develop and maintain the library collection.· Work with support staff and facilities & operations staff to maintain a functioning pleasant facility.· Strive to enhance library methods and services and remain current on library practices, issues by serving on library committees.

- Provide exemplary reference and readers advisory by establishing and maintaining a positive rapport with the public.- Develop and maintain juvenile materials collections and make suggestions for adult collections. - Plan, promote and implement programs, which highlight library materials and promote library use. - Maintain positive rapport with community groups to promote materials, programs and library use. - Provide programs, tours and catalog use classes upon request. - Volunteer for committee work to promote cooperative relationships with co-workers. - Participate in OLC activities both as a participant and presenter. - Act as person-in-charge in the absence of manager and/or assistant manager.

- Develop and implement teacher and parent workshops to encourage media literacy.- Network and maintain working relationships with a wide variety of community and government agencies and organizations including but not limited to: schools systems, parent organizations, childcare providers, child advocates and educators. Examples include but are not limited to: Head Start, Lucas County Children’s Services, WIC, Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo, WLS-PTA, Maumee Valley Girl Scouts, and HHWP Community Action Commission’s Migrant Outreach.- Provide reference services for station media library and viewer services to educators and parents.- Develop and maintain media library kits related to Public TV programming for children.- Act as on-camera television talent in twice yearly television station membership drives.

- Manage youth service agency providing activities, guidance and opportunities for inner-city youth.- Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate job performance of staff. - Create and implement annual membership recruitment strategy.- Act as liaison to parents, schools, and community agencies.- Oversee and maintain organizational budget.- Act as advisor for citizenship leadership development club for high school aged members.- Design, implement and evaluate programs and calendar of events for inner city youth in the following areas: arts, athletics, education and recreation.- Supervise, train and evaluate staff. - Design and create displays for program promotion, motivation and member recognition. - Create and implement art program for inner city youth pertinent to interest and capability levels.
