During my tenure as a Peace Fellow at Duke University following the 2016 presidential election, I founded Leadership Dialogues, a program that emphasizes reflective listening and restorative justice techniques to enable values-based civil dialogue. I train and lead a decentralized network of facilitators across the globe that collectively respond to community requests, based on geographic location and capacity. For example, for Democracy Fellows at Duke University, DEI dialogues for Rotary clubs across the U.S., and training workshops for global development and conflict resolution practitioners. The experience has been transformative for participants; 90% surveyed state they will approach dialogue differently.

I unified communications and advocacy across PATH's global malaria initiatives by seeding deeper collaboration between HQ, country teams, and cross-functional programs – ranging from digital health to market dynamics to vaccines - with the shared goal of eliminating malaria. We amplified each other’s work to influence policy and funding decisions guided by equal partnership, commitment to decolonizing global health and representation across regions.

I led HR communications throughout the Coronavirus-19 (COVID) public health emergency for 14,000 employees across the City. Focused on providing timely, accurate, and potentially life-saving information to reduce risk of exposure to COVID, enable continuation of essential public service functions, and protect public health.

I transformed OWASA’s brand, developed partnerships to enable transparency into OWASA’s operations and decision making, and facilitated stakeholder dialogues to understand collective public health, safety and sustainability priorities. With this data, OWASA developed responsive policy and operational changes to ensure reliable water provisioning to communities and essential services. Public trust continues to improve.

Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area

I was one of 10 Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Fellows appointed worldwide. As a Peace Fellow, I researched and spoke about food policy focused on food waste, climate change, and political polarization – within the context of policy making and sustainable development. To reduce polarization, I architected a model process to facilitate substantive dialogue among diverse groups. The program, called Leadership Dialogues, is being implemented in diverse communities in the United States.

During the EU-Syria migration crisis, I led communications and advocacy to enable the Red Cross Red Crescent response across 28 countries in Europe to keep humanitarian needs top of mind with governments, media, public, partners and donors - to influence policy and funding. I was the global Red Cross spokesperson throughout the crisis. Previously Senior Communications Officer based in Geneva, I led a number of portfolios: early in my tenure, I led corporate communications and internal engagement with our global workforce. During the West Africa Ebola crisis, I became the CEO's Speechwriter. I led PR for global corporate partnerships such as with Coca-Cola, Airbus and Land Rover, as well as successful brand campaigns that yielded record-breaking social media and partnership engagement across 40 markets.

I shaped a market leader narrative for Bell as technology innovator delivering the Olympics to the world: “Every image seen on TV, every story read around the world, every-real time score transmitted will be delivered on Bell technology." The corresponding media relations program I managed generated 100 million media impressions.I leveraged Olympic assets to deliver unique stakeholder and employee experiences such as technology venue tours for enterprise clients, fireside chats with Olympic athletes, and an Olympic training portal available to Bell’s 50,000 employees (which achieved the highest employee engagement of any volunteer training course at Bell).I also led the creation of a B2B marketing program to support enterprise sales including Olympic technology case studies, events, videos, and an Olympic portal for top clients; the program helped create new business opportunities and close multi-million-dollar deals.

I developed marketing presentations and collateral to support business growth at Accenture's Business Services for Utilities which served leading power companies across North America.

Member of the Bid Corporation that won Canada the right to host the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, I managed the development of a 28 month outreach campaign to promote Canada's bid to global influencers and Olympic voters. Responsibilities included intelligence monitoring, communications planning, protocol, stakeholder mapping and program budgeting. I also directed the Bid Corporation’s missions at international sporting events and conferences, delivered briefings to executives and corporate and government partners. I was the liaison to the Prime Minister’s Office and other high level officials for Team Canada's mission preparations.
