I am currently employed as a High School Library Technician where I have become part of the school learning community. It offers a wide variety of opportunities to engage with students and staff to further their educational and recreational reading and research needs. I am also involved in a range of regular library-related tasks such as cataloguing, weeding and shelving. I particularly enjoy the creative side of the role which includes involvement in lunchtime clubs, developing and implementing library displays and managing the libraries social media presence.At the beginning of 2023, I concluded my contract as the Acting Children's Services Officer at Bayswater Library in the Eastern Regional Libraries group. The role offered diverse opportunities to introduce children and families to the joys of reading and lifelong learning. I am at my best when leading storytime sessions and holiday programs in the library as it offers me the opportunity to share some of my favourite books, songs and rhymes to generations of readers. I have a Graduate Diploma in Library Science from QUT Gardens Point in Queensland and I'm currently a professional member of ALIA.
